Union representing working tradesmen and women across Alaska backs Sullivan’s record on jobs, infrastructure, and workers
Anchorage, Alaska — Senator Dan Sullivan’s (R-Alaska) re-election campaign today announced the endorsement of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 302, which represents skilled tradesmen and women across Alaska. The union’s members build and maintain the infrastructure that keeps communities running, from roads and bridges to schools and hospitals.
“Working Alaskans support Senator Dan Sullivan because he shows up for the people who build, maintain, and strengthen our state,” said Daren Konopaski, Business Manager, IUOE Local 302. “Senator Dan Sullivan understands that Alaska’s future depends on good-paying jobs, strong infrastructure, safe job sites, and real opportunities for workers to learn a trade, raise a family, and retire with dignity. The operating engineers know Senator Dan Sullivan is committed to the workers, builders, and doers who make Alaska great.”
The endorsement reflects the union’s confidence in Senator Sullivan’s commitment to policies that support working families and a strong, sustainable economy, including investment in infrastructure and job creation, protection and enforcement of prevailing wage standards, safe and healthy working conditions, access to affordable, high-quality healthcare, retirement security for working people, and workforce development through apprenticeship and training.
Senator Sullivan has long championed the skilled trades and the infrastructure investments that put Alaskans to work and keep the state’s economy moving.
IUOE Local 302 joins a growing coalition of Alaskans, including the Alaska District Council of Laborers and the Teamsters Local 959, supporting Senator Sullivan’s campaign for re-election to the U.S. Senate.
