PRESS RELEASE: Sullivan Highlights Positive Vision for Alaska During Final U.S. Senate Debate

ANCHORAGE, AK – This afternoon during the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce Political Forum, Senator Dan Sullivan showed Alaskans once again why he is the clear choice for U.S. Senate.

“Today, Senator Dan Sullivan outlined his positive vision for Alaska and his strong record of delivering wins for our state,” said Campaign Manager Matt Shuckerow. “Al Gross – in stark contrast – delivered baseless personal attacks and proved the great lengths he and his campaign will go to deceive Alaskans. After months of hiding his true political views from Alaskans, Al Gross once again was caught lying to Alaskans. Al Gross’ lies are catching up with him. The choice is clear: Dan Sullivan is the strong leader Alaskans deserve during these unprecedented times.”

During the candidate to candidate round of the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce Political Forum, Al Gross was asked if he supports national Democratic efforts to make Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico states.

Gross took what seemed like a clear stance and said, “I would not support expanding that. I think that’s a bad idea. I support 50 states in our country.”

However, these statements – like his positions on Medicare for all and the Green New Deal – stood in stark contrast with recent statements he made in private Zoom calls with campaign donors.

“I would support making Washington, D.C. a state. And I would support Puerto Rico a state,” Al Gross said.
