ANCHORAGE, AK –The Alaska Bering Sea Crabbers endorse Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK) for re-election to the U.S. Senate.
“Alaska Bering Sea Crabbers is pleased to endorse Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK) for another term in the U.S. Senate,” said Jamie Goen, Executive Director of the Alaska Bering Sea Crabbers. “Senator Sullivan has been a strong supporter of Alaska’s fisheries with a proven track record as an effective leader. We appreciate all that he has done for our industry, and we stand behind him. Here’s to another Term!”
“Senator Sullivan works hard to ensure that Alaska’s fishing industry remains the superpower of seafood,” said Matt Shuckerow, Alaskans for Dan Sullivan Campaign Manager. “This has been a tough season for fishermen having to endure a trade war with China and a global pandemic. Dan has continually fought for them. He worked with the Administration to secure $530 million in tariff relief for fishermen impacted by retaliatory tariffs of foreign governments, $300 million in direct assistance through the CARES Act for the industry and fishery-dependent communities impacted by COVID, and more. The Senator’s record reflects his firm belief that the fishing industry is a cornerstone of our State’s economy.”
Commercial fishing and seafood processing are Alaska’s largest private-sector employer. The industry creates over 63,000 direct jobs through the State and pays approximately $133 million in wages.
The Alaska Bering Sea Crabbers is a trade association representing the harvesters of king, opilio, and bairdi crab in the Bering Sea. They are actively involved in fisheries management, scientific research, policy development, and marketing.
